Buenos Aires - The Paris of South America

Buenos Aires is the capital as well as the largest city of Argentina. It is more European in its taste rather than South American. In English, the meaning of Buenos Aires is “Fair Winds” or “Good Air.” The European influence can be seen in its architecture, food and life. This attractive port city stretches from south to north along the Rio de la Plata. It is called the “The Pearl” of South America and the travellers visiting Buenos Aires will be enthralled by the vibrant beauty of the city.

You can wander through the cobbled streets and glare at the beautifully painted architectural buildings and metal houses. The streets of Buenos Aires are lined with old-time cafés and stylish restaurants where people talk of world politics and fútbol. Buenos Aires is very multicolored and diverse in its culture.

San Telmo district of Buenos Aires has some examples of diverse and cosmopolitan architecture- a blend of Spanish Colonial design, French Classicism and Italian representation. Often referred as the “Paris of South America,” in Buenos Aires, you can discover the various colors of Argentina.
